I recently bought a used Apogee Duet for cheap on CL. Not sure I’m going to have time to get too deep into recording but I wanted to get something to record my amp at heavier than mid-gain sounds. Recording in the digital studio age has not been very enjoyable compared to the pre-Pro Tools era where you needed to go to a real studio (tape!) or go 4-track.
I found some old 4-track recordings that I made in the late 90′s.
Line 6 DL-4 looping in 1999
Digitech Whammy II in 1998 (for an audition tape for a touring sideman gig). Warning: lower your speaker volume – it gets kinda screechy!
In the 90′s, the 4-track was attainable, crappy lo-fi brilliance.
